Hi Karen Anne- I'm suspecting you have a soil problem. Possibly "Early Blight." Are other things growing well? Has it been particularly wet? Here are some more details: http://gardening.about.com/od/vegetablepatch/a/TomatoProblems.htm To diagnose it we'd need some more info, including whether there's adequate sun, and if the soil is rich enough.

Go here; http://gardening.about.com/od/growingtips/tp/Tomato_Tips.htm It could be the fact you are not trimming back the leaves or you need to add some tpe of fertilizer + 5

Hello Karen Anne. Several possibilities come to mind. If big beautiful plants, could be too much Nitrogen, and not enough Phosphorus. If it stays too hot, the pollen dies. If there is not enough wind or visiting critters, could be a pollination problem. Other than the two, they never become a tomato, if that is correct, not blossum end rot. . I am thinking a pollination problem. In that case, try shaking the plants a little while flowering or take a small kids paintbrush and hand pollinate each flower. If you are in a hot climate, do it in the morning before it gets too hot.

We have had that problem. We used to buy a spray liquid called Blossom Set. We were told that really hot weather, not enough air movement would be a problem with tomatoes setting on the blossoms. I have some plants right now and have not been having a problem but we haven't had really hot weather for more than a day or two.

My neighbor told me there is a blight from New England to Ohio thats killing them off this year. His plants were about dead when he showed them to me.

full sun, and let them go dry in between waterings. THey like to get thirsty.

this may be a stupid question, but have there been enough insects around to fertilise them? To be honest I don't even know what kind of insects tomato plants rely on to fertilise their flowers..
