Not really ... it just detracts from the actual movie for me.

I can handle them, but I miss half of visual stuff.
-
hate em - no foreign films for me
-
Yes...but sometimes the subtleties ARE lost in the subtitles. :)
-
Hell no...they are the worst!!! How can u enjoy "watching" the movie when u have to "read" what's on the bottom of the screen?? WTF???!!!
-
yes i can,but i would rather them not there.+5
-
Ya but i dont end up seeing anything thats happening on the tv
-
Yup... Some of the best films are subtitled, countless foreign films put the Hollywood films to shame. I have learned to be fine with them because of that, actually I would rather deal with subtitles and watch something amazing, than have an easy ride and watch something so-so.
-
In a personal conversation they can be distracting; in films I find subtitles useful because they can explain the dialogue and storyline. ;)
-
I can, but I find them distracting from watching the show/movie.
-
I prefer them.
-
I always feel at first, Oh no!, not this. But if its a good movie, I forget right away and go with it. I loved the Seventh Samaurai and stuff like that and forgot completely about the subtitles in a few minutes.
-
Can't attend a Russian opera without them!
-
Only if they are written in English. Years ago I saw 'Dancing with wolves' in Amsterdam with Dutch subtitles . . .
-
English is not my first language. Having seen hundreds of English-spoken movies, I'm pretty used to them by now.
-
Sure, with an interesting plot I can.
-
Yes, I don't notice that I'm reading as I watch after ten minutes into it if it's good. It's like reading a really good book but instead of my imagination painting the scenes in my head as I read along, I can just watch them unfold on screen.

Yes.
