Smack them on the behind..no. It's called discipline. Smacking the face yes. it's abuse. You have to discipline because if you don't, there will be great problems in the future.

depends on the situation. If doing something dangerous has immediate and obvious consequences that a child can understand then no. Example: touching a stove top. I can't think of any specific things give me examples and i'll let you know. I'll hit my kid if he/she is constantly rude or disrespectful but i plan on raising my kid without the need of hitting but if necessary it will be used.
