Help answer this question below.
...he should be pooping the black stuff out, I forgot the term...but I would go to the store, buy a little kyro syrup...the dark brown sticky icky stuff...and give them just a small tea spoon per 6 oz bottle....maybe less. It should loosen him up real good, if he doesnt go that same night...or day, take him to the docs asap...(but they would tell you to do the same thing)
If he is sleeping well, not crying after being fed or changed, and he isn't showing any sign of discomfort, I wouldn't worry about it too much but if you are concerned or he doesn't have a bowel movement in another day or two, call his doctor and ask for advice.
Yeah, My daughter was the same way. The doctor said that as long as the baby doesnt go 3 days or more with out a any bowl movenment then take your baby into a doctor. You can try a little bit of Karo syrup in a bottle, when I was born I was very constipated and my mom had to give it to me all the time to have a bowl movement. Hope this helps

As a man, do you change the baby's nappy/diaper? Is it as bad as they say? Do enough guys do this job or is it still seen as a woman's?

You're reading I have a 5 day old son and he hasn't had a good bowl movement since Sunday night. Monday and today he has had only little terds. He is not showing any sign of discomfort. I was just wondering if this was normal for infants this young to go like this.
