I didn't personally almost die, but I do believe I was acknowledged by Death. I was 18, my great grandfather was dying. It was about 2 or 3 in the morning and my great uncle, a cousin and I were sitting up with him. They went out for a cigarette, I was sitting on the couch reading with the dog at my side. The little guy was uncharacteristicly calm and almost lifeless, while the dogs outside where frantic and barking wildly. I was just looking down at my book, reading, when my whole body siezed in a full chill and immoblization; every hair stood on ends. All I could do was look over at the bed my grandfather was laying on in the living room. Standing beside him was a very large, masculine figure. There was no detail to him, but it was definatly male and was forcing me to acknowledge him. I was not afraid at all, even knowing what he was. After a few minutes I could move again, and immediatly dashed outside to my uncle. I told him what happened and he, to my suprise, believed me. He went to check on his father and he was almost positivly dead. He was on a resparater, but it was no longer keeping him alive, just filling his chest with air. About half an hour later, I seen three woman. One at the head of the bed, one at the side and one at the foot. All were brilliant white, and bent slightly over him. After that and for days later I was super sensitive to all "spirit activity" in the house, especially the feeling that Death himself had left behind.
