  • I don't know the language OR an interpreter.
  • yes!! too many reports of kidnapping.. and the whole swine flu thing... i dunno if its over with now but... too risky.
  • No. Would want to go with someone who speaks the language so would be able to get around better. But then it could be my sister or any of her family, they were Missionaries in Mexico for over 13 years.
  • I've been to Mexico several times, and have not only visited "Tourist traps". (i.e. beach resorts). but also other parts of the country. I mostly have had very positive experiences there. I would take my precautions regarding the recent Swine Flu scare, same as I do in my country, same goes for general caution and common sense in certain areas regarding possible criminal activity.
  • Nope, I have my yearly trip booked for cancun booked for September!
  • no just stay in the tourist areas. Do NOT wander too far away from things in general, .ie dont go wandering around the countryside. There are yet many area of mexico that are untamed by law.
  • Just don't drink the water - unless it's bottled.
  • I'm somewhat put off going to Mexico at all in case they haven't forgotten or forgiven for The Alamo.
