  • tornadoes will destroy anything so they just throw up whatever they can cheaply so its easier/faster to rebuild
  • Most of the houses made of stronger, more expensive materials would still be destroyed by a tornado. It's better to build the house you can afford, insure, and cross your fingers.
  • Because they know they are probably going to have to end up rebuilding anyway. So why spend more?
  • I always been amazed why so many people built their houses on the edge of beaches that are prone to flooding or in the middle of a forest that has a greater chance of fire. Mostly people do what they want because of cost, convience, and location within the regulations they must abide by - and may or may not rue the day. +5
