Amish belive it is all right for them to drink at 16. Why is this? And why is part of their rebellion to hang with English children and why do their parents think we English are a bad influince? When are parents expect us to be responable at 16?

The English population of America tossed its sense of asceticism and self-control out the window years ago. If you just let kids drink you take away their ability to use it to rebel, and voila - about 95% of teen alcohol abuse just dries up. They let their kids behold what we've done to ourselves. Is it any small wonder then, that only one or two kids out of many dozens leave the family after Rumspringa?

at 16 you have to choose a life as Amish or something different The belief is that you need to be exposed to the otherside to make an informed choice If you haven't ever been exposed to temptation, how can u say that you have achieved anything
