I think some are, just like in a church.. some are just there to get rich. others truly believe that they are called upon by Jesus to tell others about his word.. good question +5

Yes. They feed off people's gullability. First, they make you feel guilty and then they get you to reach for your purse. I bet they have a good laugh at their foolish congregation when they get home.
-
yes. yes.
-
That's the whole idea.
-
I really believe that they are. I can never understand the immense crowds they get, they come off so phony I guess those people are really missing something in their life!
-
Yes. I used to work for a televangelist. Short arms, deep pockets.
-
I think that some MAY have been honest. But none that I can think of now. Same goes for mega-churches - and plenty of ordinary small ones too. It's a perfect business - lots of money and no deliverables. +5

There has never been any other reason other than to part people with their hard earned money. As Napoleon Bonaparte once said, "I am surrounded by priests who repeat incessantly that their kingdom is not of this world, and yet they lay their hands on everything they can get." It seems the only thing that changed was technology.
-
Yes. I think they are all phony and they care more about the content of their flock's pockets than they do about the flock.
-
Yes, that is why their main messages revolve around monetary blessings. They tell people if you are having money problems then God is upset with you. It is their way to justify them living like Kings.
-
I would believe that they weren't in it for the money if 100% of the profit (aside from a VERY modest salary) went to projects like homeless shelters, assisting single parents, funding college for low income kids, contributing to the treatment of kids with cancer etc. However, you will quickly find that these things aren't "God's work" enough.

They are all interested in getting rich, whether it be rich in this life or in the next, they are all greedy.

Yes.

Many or most are yes. They may have started off with the right motive but money does strange things to people. However, most of the people giving all of this money to the false preachers should know better, especially today when the mega-church scams are running rampant. These Christians should be searching Scripture to see if what they say and do lines up with it. Also, pray and test the spirits to see if they are of God. 1 John 4:1 "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." Pretty simple. Unfortunately many want something so badly that they push God aside because they don't want to wait on God's timing, and fawn all over the smooth talkers and fill their bank accounts. The televangelists are good at what they do and as long as people are gullible enough to give, give, give, and give some more, the televangelists will continue to ask for more, more, more. Unfortunately for them, God sees all.

Some are and some aren't.
-
Yes, because they're not Christians.
-
I'd say they're ONLY interested in getting rich and use the gospels as a tool to achieve that aim.
-
Yes, it must for them to get all that tax free money from gullible people that could use it for their bills or kids or an education. Dateline interviewed this douche bag evangelist that had a god damed private jet.......wtf.....talk about capitalism at its worst......
