  • you need to know what your pc uses?? make, model???
  • Go to crucial.com http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/ Download the scanner and It will scan your system and tell u what type od memory stick you need and how much u can add
  • This is such an involved topic that I'm not going to give you a full answer. Instead I'm going to recommend you see a local "Build-Your-Own" Computer store and get them to do it for you. The problem stems from the amazing variety of RAM types out there. Knowing just which ones are right for you would require a thorough knowledge of your systems hardware, BIOS and settings. Without knowing all that, it would be like recommending a Cadillac and finding out that it wont fit into your garage and you aren't able to fuel it anyway. DDR (Buffered or not) or DDR2 (or DDR3)? Speed of your memory Bus? Dual or triple channel? Error correcting or not? RAS/CAS timings? Input power options? Overclocking capacity? Motherboard compatibility? These are ALL important questions and easy ones for a computer tech to answer and not so easy for a guy looking for a quick RAM boost. Hope this helps.
  • Yes, I'd also recommend buying any memory upgrades from Crucial.com. I've purchased memory from them for several years now and never once had a problem.
