Poke it's eyes, kick it's nose, shove TNT into it's mouth.

It depends on the size of the alligator but most crocodilians only have short bursts of energy before they completley expend their energy and most (unless it's a female protecting a nest) won't bother chasing a human. Most humans can easily outrun any gator though. Regardless, even though I LOVE alligators, I'd still run like the wind if one were ever agitated enough to chase me!
