  • No, I think you're right.
  • Everyone lies. It just depends on how well they cover it up.
  • I think that the people who say that "I never lie" are probably put under a lot more scrutiny for saying this. If you take a closer look at their pasts, you may find a few slip ups.
  • I think one should never assume but I see little reason to argue the point on this.+5
  • The people who say they never lie are fooling themselves. If i see no consequence in lying and only outcome is good or neutral.. i will lie. Ex: Girl asks me to tell her what i think about her outfit.. tell her it's good no matter what. If the lie is about taking personal responsibility then i will not lie because if I deserve a punishment if i did something wrong (Ex: breaking vase, telling a teacher plain out i didn't do the work etc) If the lie is huge and requires alot of thought to cover other lie's and i feel i can get away with it i will try to lie. but because my intentions are good I don't consider myself a liar. I liar to me is someone who lie's for personal gain or to bash someone else or to blame someone else. So although i do lie i don't consider myself a liar. Do you think i'm full of it?
  • No one is "ABSOLUTELY" truthful but I do try and so do some others I have known, however there are those situation that actually require you to lie even temporaryly to avoid someone getting harmed and I'm not talking someones feelings here, Im talking physical harm, I have yet to meet ANYONE that passes the "Absolute Honesty Test" and yes there is one there is also the "Walk on Water Test" these are generally given by the religous type to break someone down especially when anyone questions there actions they turn on you on a dime it designed to NOT question them or their authority as if they really had any .. ~Nemo~
  • Everyone lies, and we learn to do it from an early age. Whether it's by omission, saying something to make someone feel good or outright falsehoods, people lie nearly every day.
  • By definition, people who never lie would be full of it...full of the truth, that is. But since nobody is perfect, and we all fall short sometimes, 'never lying' would be humanly impossible. We all have an agenda, and quite often it's to benefit ourselves in some way. The best we can do is to try and never lie, and keep working to be totally honest as much as possible. Truth produces many rewards.
  • Not necessarily so. Maybe if they said "I never" they are covering up something, since it's not humanly possible to never lie in the smallest way. But some people really do take telling the truth seriously and maybe those people could say they don't lie or they try to never lie, on purpose. I now that I can honestly say that I do my best to never lie and be truthful and I don't recall the last time I was aware of lying because I do take it very seriously. But I'm sure I've refrained from saying things, or just brushed off something and it could be untruth, like if someone asked How are you and I say fine when I'm not feeling my best. But I don't feel that the people in your question are 'full of it', just maybe not aware of their behavior, fulling themselves, if you will.
  • No, I think you are quite right. Always distrust the man who tells you how honest he is.
