Not really. He is just as non-Existent with a small G as with a capital one. +5

Yes it does, if you say "god" without the capital, then you are referring to the idea of a deity, but if you put a capital in then you turn it into a name. The name "God" refers to Christianity's god. I hope that helps
-
It's called proper grammar. And here I thought that atheists knew everything.

You really think he cares?

Proper nouns are meant to start with a capital. In other words, whether someone or something is real or not doesn't count. Technically Santa Claus, as a proper noun, should start with a capital.
-
If it is a proper name then yes. I like GOD myself
-
Well, Trent Reznor certainly seems to think so!
-
yes it does.
-
i doubt it since God is not defined by our labels. He/She/It just is.

When referring to a particular God, then we capitalize it. When we are speaking of gods or the concept of god we do not capitalize it. It's simply good English grammar and intelligent people should use good grammar. From the OWL at Purdue: The names of God, specific deities, religious figures, and holy books God the Father the Virgin Mary the Bible the Greek gods Moses Shiva Buddha Zeus Exception: Do not capitalize the non-specific use of the word "god." The word "polytheistic" means the worship of more than one god. http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/592/01/
