  • The word "Nutcracker" sounds so PAINFUL!!!!! I'm partial to "Swan Lake." I can't really tell you why, except for the fact that I like the music featured in it. +5
  • I have many I love but I think for young people and first times Coppelia is a very good Ballet. It is comic and sentimental. The story of a Toymaker. I love Giselle and Romeo and Juliette, Oh there are not many ballets i do not like. I like the Russian Style and Modern Ballets too.
  • Actually, my favorite ballet music is Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring/Le Sacre du Printemps" or whatever -- depending on the choreographer, the ballet itself may vary greatly But my favorite particular ballet is " Belling the Slayer," using the music from Jerry Goldsmith's excellent orchestral music for the film " Capricorn One. " Saw this ballet " live. " Having been a fan of this particular movie score, the ballet almost fused my entire being. Other tops on my list: That relatively recent, famous all-male version of Swan Lake was interesting; loved the costumes but had hoped the choreography might have accentuated the all-maleness of the cast - - not that males can't be graceful; just thought it would be more athletic, forceful. Interesting, though. Stravinsky's " The Firebird " Some day I'd like to see deMille's " Fall River Legend." [ have researched very much the real-life event a lot -- have a recording of the opera based upon it, would like to see the ballet. ] Enough
  • My fav ballet is Sleeping Beauty. Two reasons so gracefull and i was in it :)
