There's no reason why you couldn't. Assuming god is real, god could have easily started evolution.
-
It is possible but as you become better aquinted with God you may begin to see how evolution doesn't hold all the answers.
-
somebody had to make the slime from whence we all evolved-or not

Of course. You just have to believe that God laid out a magnificent plan including the laws of chemistry and physics, etc. and that He set things in motion and allowed them to proceed on their own. Yet He made it so that "Nature" always evolved toward continuation and advancement of life. The whole ecosystem is a pretty brilliant plan. You get free will. You get a great planet to live on. You get a moon of just the right size and in just the right place to create eclipses so we can learn about space. You also get only one moon, so we have night and KNOW that there are stars out there. And most of us get a conscience, which you can consider God in action on a minute-to-minute basis. I don't see any conflicts, except in the minds of those who choose to believe that the Bible is to be taken literally, rather than a collection of moral lessons.

Easily.

I know very religous people that have science backgrounds. Their practice involves applying knowledge derived from evolution, but at the same time they're devoted to their religion. For instance, my Grandma was a doctor; however, she is extremely religous at the same time. And take a well known scientist for example, like Gregory Mendel, the father of genetics, was a protestant monk. I have never actually asked them how to rationalize between the discrephancies or religion and evolution though. Maybe it's something they don't bother questioning. So, in that sense. Yes, you can be a evolutionist by practicing science, but still remain devoted to God. I personally, don't think you can truely believe in evolution and a particular religion such as Christianity at the same time. There are just too many details that are contradictory. A religous person, however, will always tell you that these contradictions can't be rationalized through science. You can, however, remain Agnostic and simply believe in God.

No, you can not. That amounts to playing 'both sides of the fence'. You either do, or you don't. Anyone that professes otherwise, is either a fool or a hypocrite.
-
Many Catholics, as well as other types of Christians, are what you call "theistic evolutionists."

If one believes in a greater power, be it God or other, who's to say that this God or any other belief was not the creator of evolution? ... Humans have many questions pertaining to answers that only death will find ... Peace

Outside of America, Creationism is actually quite rare even in Christian belief. I live in the UK and until a couple of years ago had never even heard of Creationism. I had a Christian upbringing and had never even heard of anyone who didn't accept evolution until I was well into my 20s.
-
No, because evolution started a long time before human invented him.

So says The Vatican on advice from some of the worlds leading scientists. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/religion/4588289/The-Vatican-claims-Darwins-theory-of-evolution-is-compatible-with-Christianity.html
