I'd have to say tomato, I'm allergic to any type of nuts, and that's how you make pesto, basic, olive oil, a few other stuff mixed in and nuts. I love that chunky tomato sauce, I'm from Italy, and I don't like that watery sauce that doesn't stick to the pasta!

At least the Tomato especially in the form of sauce. That is the one vegetable that begs to accompany pasta. Pesto is OK but I would not want to use it all the time,

i'm saying pesto. i love pine nuts, and tomato can be kind of acidic sometimes.

Both, just not at the same time, or neither, just fresh veggies, all kinds, quick saute in olive oil, squeeze of lemon, sprinkle of fresh herbs, I'm happy:-)

WTH is Pesto?

Pesto just because so many pasta dishes with meat or fish in are tomato based. I would not want a tomato based sauce unless it had something like meat or quorn in it.

I do like both, but usually have tomato based sauces since my s/o doesn't like pesto. OK...now I'm wanting some pasta with pesto!
