You may be bi-polar or have bi-polar tendencies. You should consult a doctor. My husband is bi-polar and it is nothing to play with. If nothing else, you will be able to see if it's serious or if it's something you can deal with by altering your lifestyle or diet.

You could be bipolar, although that's kind of a "hot" diagnosis right now. Only a liscenced psychologist/psychiatrist can actually diagnose you. If this is something that interrupts your life and makes it hard for you to function normally, it is probably wise to go get it checked out. Make an appointment with a psych, and just have him/her see what he/she thinks. Good luck.

You could be bi polar. Mood swings are very common with that. But check with a professional before jumping to conclusions.

It sounds like you may be manic depressive. I would suggest you learn to get control of your emotions. By that, I mean that, while emotions are an important part of our being, they are not meant to control us. Try meditation after you wake up in the morning. There are drugs that doctors are more than willing to give you in such cases, but I highly recommend that you seek another path.

I agree that you could be bipolar and as someone who is bipolar, I can tell you from experience that knowing is half the battle. Lemme know if you ever want to chat about it (PS I think most of the drugs that treat it aren't worth the side effects especially if your case is "mild"-but maybe that's just me!) If you are diagnosed you should ask your psych about therapy as well as the drugs he/she will no doubt force down your throat! Also, I don't know how old you are, but for me my symptoms became less severe as I reached my mid-twenties. (My brain was totally out of control from late teens till then).

Although your symptoms fit what most people think bipolar is, if your mood swings last no longer than a day, its most likely not bipolar. People with bipolar can be depressed for 6 months and manic for 6 months. They rarely have mood changes that last less than a couple days, and frequently have mood changes that last weeks or months. Borderline personlity disorder is more fitting, because with BPD, your mood changes are more drastic, and don't usually last more than a day. Here are some questions that if you answer yes too, you most likely have BPD. do you feel empty all the time? (like when you have time to think, not when you are distracted by others) Have you tried to kill yourself, or thought about suicide? have you/do you self injure? are you impulsive in some of the following areas: Drugs, sex, alcohol, shopping, DUI or any other areas that can bring you harm do you know who you are, or do you often change yourself in an attempt to fit in? are your personal relationships usually intense and short lived? Do you often lose your temper? Have you ever seen something that was not really there, or "gone away" while another part of you took over? have you been abused or experienced something very traumatic? do you have the feeling that when people walk out of the room, they are never coming back? do you do everything to prevent being abandoned? I would suggest you look into both of these disorders, and get at least two opinions, as a lot of people with manic depressive are mis-diagnosed and actually Have BPD, the treatment is very different for people with BPD, as they have past issues that cause the disorder, where manic depressive is mostly caused by a chemical imbalance. if more than 3 or 4 of those questions sound like you, I would say that you most likely have BPD. Good luck and i hope you can find a treatment that works well for you. and I hopeyou never give up.

If not Bi-polar, possibly Cyclonic depressive diorder... It's similar, but not as extreme. I often wonder this myself, as have similar mood swings also.
