  • If it's expensive.. Return it and just tell the truth. If it's not worth thát much.. Well.. Nobody will notice I guess.
  • It's yours now, just consider it a free gift from the mall. (And I porbably wouldn't go back for a few weeks)
  • heheh. . .I'd be inclined to go, "suuuuure" but for the fact that something similar happened to me many, many years ago. I actually paid for several books at a bookstore, then realized after I had gotten on the bus that I had one tucked under my arm for which I had not paid. Not advising you, but I must admit that I didn't take the 10-mile bus ride back to pay for it.
  • You should return it if it's expensive for your own peace of mind. Alternately, you could choose a viable decent charity and pay it's value forward... perhaps several fold.
  • i wouldnt worry about it so much. i would just return it. if you are worried about being arrested for shoplifting, just leave the item on a counter in the store and walk out. no explanations necessary. they will be happy to get the merchandise back, and you will be happy to get that off your chest.
