This depends on your connection. If you use an RF adaptor to connect to your TV then the problem could be the adaptor. If you are connecting with composite, S-Video or Component cables then it could be the video driver circuitry in your XBox. In either case it could possibly be the retrace blanking circuitry in your TV. Check the box on another TV before you do anything else. If that doesn't work, switch to composite or S-Video cables to connect to your TV. If it's an XBox 360 on an older TV check to make sure that it is set to output a 480i signal rather than 480p some older TVs have a problem with a 480p input. If that doesn't work or you are talking about an original XBox then it's probably time to start thinking about a new system. Hope this helps.
