When someone cheats with his/her spouse or lover, the jilted lover often lays the blame on the person they cheated with. Shouldn't the cheater be held responsible? They're the one who promised faithfulness, not the "other person".

Yeah,lots of people do that.They blame and get mad at the other person rather than their s/o.BOTH people are to blame unless the other person thought that the cheater was single or something.

Yup, blame the cheater. It's like if a guy finds his girl in bed with another guy, he flips out on the guy and want to beat him. Well hey man, your girlfriend is one you should be flipping out on! Unless the guy is your friend then yes beat him to lol.

Blame is foolish. Forgive and forget. The marriage is much more important than fidelity. It's a trifle. Children,friendship,home --each is more important than fidelity.

Blaming the person who came in from the outside makes it easier to forgive the cheater.

it depednds of how long the person he/she was cheating with new that he/she was cheating on someone else. say, if he/she just came onto them and never told them about there husband/boyfreind then yeeeh its not thier fault, but if they told them, then i suppose its both of their faults. x

I believe it goes something like: Laying blame on the person they cheated with makes since because they are ALSO guilty of moral impurities along with the cheater themselves. Any blame on the cheater is private.

in my opinion, the cheater bears 100% responsibilty. Often times, the lover wasnt even aware that this person is married. Now, if they are aware of the marriage, and chose to do this, they are guilty of a battery of selfish and unkind traits, but they still arent cheaters.

Ppl jst like to blame the cause of their troubles she was the seductive syren who stole my husband type of thing, she was the one that flirted with him, basically she was the one that stole his affection if u know what i mean. Of course they should be angry at their spouse or lover in some situations the person they're having the affair with isn't even aware that the person is married. But then I guess its hard to be mad at someone you were in love with for so long.
