Can heavy drinkers overcome alcoholism other than just quitting cold turkey or AA?

    I believe there are medications that can help alcohol addiction but most doctors prefer cold turkey because they don't want someone to switch their addiction from alcohol to pills. There are many, many other options to AA. There are alot of recovery places you can go to for support. Teen Challenge is one. You do not have to be a teen to do it though.
