I would feel violated, but paranoid enough to never leave anything there I did not want seen or stolen. My boss left a letter of reprimand for me while I was on vacation. Over 50 people saw it. When I protested on the ethics and the lies in it, nothing was done.
Not really, I got nothing to hide and if they need it then they need it.
Not at all. As it had already been said, you shouldn't leave anything private at work. Anyway, my desk belongs to my employer, not me.
That did happen to me once and I felt very violated. I never trusted the person who did it again.
No. I don't leave anything important at work while I'm away.
Strange people rifle through my desk all the time, and then I take my meds and they go away.
Not at all! I would be more upset if they looked through my cupboards at home!
Not at all ! I don't own my desk. . . . . . . .the company does! It's THEIR desk I'm using! So. . . . .how could one mind?!
If I knew about it, it would bother me a bit. I don't have anything to hide, but I don't want people borrowing things, and not bringing them back! :S ++
I'am going to say or was going to say that yeah, that could be a real or big problem i mean that is my desk its suppose to be kinda personal and that's why everyone else gets their own desk so they can do their work and its a self of place there, "self of place there?" well anyways its suppose to be only for me or the person working there not for everyone to be looking at or through. That's not right, respectful and very nice to do or a very nice thing to do unless it is my or the boss looking through my stuff well thats kinda understandable, right? ex. him trying to look though my stuff for something work related. :P
No. Why would I be? It is my employer's desk after all... and, it was "work related".
The desk and other fixtures are company property. If they came to search my home and person, that would be a different story.
I don't have anything in my desk that I would worry about. I keep my email very clean at work too. Wouldn't bother me at all. My desk at work is not a private domain.
If they find the bag with sanitary napkins in my file cabinet, they can be embarrased, not me.
it could happen anytime. i dont keep private stuff in my desk. maybe a box of candy. or a six pack of pepsi. nothing illegal. same for my locker at work. they can cut the lock if they want and search it as much as they like. when someone is too stupid to leave the wrong stuff in the wrong place, then they need to find another place to work.
No, not really...most of my stuff at my office is "work-related" anyway. And if I'm away on vacation, then I will be sure to put it up out of reach for others while I am gone. Lock up!...and as long as they know how to put s*** back, then I'm mostly OK with that:)
If I am at work - that's a violation of personal work space. If on vacation, its stupid as I don't leave anything at the desk except for pencils & stuffed animals. lol, If they're playing with the Beanies I don't mind - it just makes them look stupid.
