Practice. I'm right handed, and I throw with my fingers in between laces, slightly behind the center of the ball. release over the top, and follow through. but remember: PRACTICE!

okay, just so everyone knows i do have the qualifications to give this answer. I have played quarterback since I was 10 years old. I recieved first-team all-league honors and honorable mention for all-county. I had private practices with Phil Simms himself. So here we go... There are MANY different aspects of quarterbacking that can effect the way your ball comes out. We will start with the basics your hand and finger placement. First, you need to know which laces you should use. Use this cheesy diagram as an example... []==[]==[]==[]==[]==[]==[] ...1....2.....3....4....5.....6.. For those of you with smaller hands, I recommend using the 1 and 3 slots for your fingers. For those with bigger hands, use the 2 and 4 slots. For this example, we will pretend the QB is smaller and righty. With your dominant hand, place your ring finger in slot 1 and place your pinky in slot 3. Place your thumb on the opposite side of the ball so that your hand wraps around the ball. When you are throwing the ball, put pressure on those three fingers ONLY (a HUGE tip from Phil Simms himself). Do not squeeze the ball with all of your fingers! Now that you've got the hand basics, we'll move on to form. Before you go into your arm motion of throwing, it is important to have a good anchor point. With your fingers in the right slots, use your other hand to cup the ball. Bring the ball up to your ear as if it were whispering to you. This is important because starting your release from a low position will screw up your arm motion. If you have the ball sitting high before release, all you have to do is sling your arm back and shoot it forward. Last but not least is follow through... Pretend you have a dollar sticking out of your pants pocket in the opposite side of your throwing arm. After you release the ball, your index finger and thumb of your throwing arm should reach for that dollar. And that's it! Practice this and your spiral should improve in no time.

You know the laces on it? Well put your forefinger on the top of it and rearrange your fingers in the laces so it gives you more accuracy.

1. Make sure you keep the first 3 fingers on the top of the seem of the ball or flip the ball and place your thumb at the top of the seem. 2.Hold the ball close to your ear with both hands as if you are listening for a ticking sound. . keep your legs seperated with the front foot pointed out and in the direction of where you intend to throw. 4. release the ball from your throwing shoulder using the tips of the none throwing hnad as a guide to your target. You should be able to see the intended target on the tip of your none throwing hand such as the sights on a rifle scope. 5. Do not throw, zing, power, hurl or wing the ball when releasing it.but toss the ball with a flick of the wrist. 6. Crouch just a bit when setting up to throw. 7.NEVER THROW OFF THE BACK FOOT but place your weight evenly and slightly forward while planting your forward foot.
