How smart someone is and how much they know are two different things. Fifth graders come in varying degrees of intelligence.
-
I guess. I do have to thank my current 8th grade mathematics teacher though. She's awesome.
-
Not sure I am smarter but i have had a longer period of education, so would hope that I have a wider knowledge base.
-
'Smarter' would have to be defined. Life experience is often the greatest teacher.
-
Most of them. I hope most of them anyway. I haven't heard of any new, insane learning technology that is being used on elementary school students, so I assume that means I'm smarter than nearly all of them. Except for the child prodigies.
-
I hope so, or my younger sister will soon be smarter than me and that would become a disadvantage in arguments.
-
Ah---Jeff Foxworthy will be asking that question in a possible new TV show. But Howard Stern has already covered it.
-
I've seen that show and the questions were incredibly easy. For example, "what country has the longest border with the US?" there are only 2 options, Mexico and Canada. Mexico's border goes from California to Texas, while Canada's border goes from Washington to Maine, plus Alaska.
-
Hehe, I have that show DVR'd. And I would hope so, but probably not likely. Kids are smart!
-
Not when it come's to book smart's Through wisdom of walking the walk - Yes
-
No those damn fifth graders out smart me everytime. they may be small but there cunning and evil.
-
I hope so. I try to keep myself educated even though I don't have a degree. That way when my kids will start needing help with home work i'm not so clueless.
-
May be smarter than the avg 5th grader, but comparing with the smartest 5th grader, not sure .
-
Some of those kids are pretty sharp. I was taught a lesson in calculus.
-
Having gone through fifth grade I should hope so.
-
Yes, I'm in 6th grade. I'm very smart.
-
I certainly hope so. But I am sure there are some things a fifth grader knows that I have forgotten since I have been out of school for so long and their education is still fresh in their minds.
-
Sadly to say that last night, when I watched it on tv, I wasn't..damn, schooling sure is different than when I was a 5th grader!
-
S#IT YESS! wad du u fink i am? stoopid?!
-
no, 5th graders are using computer technologies that were unheard of back in the day for myself. 5th graders are having sex with attractive teachers, I was never smart enough for that, still not. 5th graders know what time lunch is, and they get it for free. I work all day for my lunch, to want this definately not as smart if you compare the effort needed to compare to that of the 5th grader, therefore I lack this skill as well. shoulda kept mooching off mommy.... in summary, I have listed three examples as proof that I am not smarter than a 5th grader, using myself as the example. www.IamTHEsource.com

I have been looking at the show and confess I couldn't remember some of the answers lol.
-
Smarts and knowledge are two different things. I may be more educated than a fifth grader - but they may be a genius and thus smarter than I :)
-
in some areas, no. They know a lot more than me about computers, mobile phones and other technology. I struggle with these, being of a certain age...:-(
-
Currently watching the show... I have forgotten most of the math. When I told my teachers I'd never use that stuff they got mad, but guess who was right.
-
I'm grade 8, and my cousin is grade 5. Beat him in every academic challenge. The people that go on that show are pretty stupid :P
-
i like to think so! lol
-
Yes, but I got a terrible memory. So when it came to questions of memory they probably would beat me. When it came to problem solving, I'd leave them in the dust.
-
I'm in 8th Grade, I should hope so!
-
My academic skills are very poor .So 5 th graders have me beat in a few areas. But I am working on changing that.
-
Yes. I have made the million dollar level on the online version of the game several times and only used their help once.
-
I'd like to think I am, but in some ways my experience has clouded what's important.
-
Decidedly so.
-
DUPLICATE!!!! http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/150683
-
Most of the time. Well, depends on the fifth grader...
-
Absolutely not! At times, I think I fail the first grader class!
-
Yep. I am smarter than 5th grader. I'm 12th grade.
-
I sure hope so. +5
-
I certainly hope so! I might be a bit rusty on my US Presidents, but I can probably figure my way through it ^_^
-
Sure you must be or else you would be in fourth grade itself. Howzzat Bingo. Lovingly Maggge.
