Help answer this question below.
I will hold the cheque and find out if it was really a mistake, by contacting the sender of the check.
It is quite possible that it was in settlement of some old receivable with interest which I had written off long back.
Only after receiving a proper written reply that I will decide what to do with the check - cash it or return it.
shred it and send it back.
Send it back. I don't want to end up in prison.
I would return it with the expectation that I would get a reward. What do you think, 10%?
Return it. One, it wouldn't be right to keep something that's not yours. Two, you know full well it'll come back to bite you in the butt one day.
Tell the person it's not yours to prevent any future trouble and guilt.
Make lots of pancakes
Give it back.
I will return it as soon as I find out. If you try to keep it even for a short period, you could be sued. Worse, you could end up in jail. Return it and hope you get a reward.
Quite a few things actually, including banking it in switzerland
Contact the maker of the check to tell them it was incorrect. Then ask if they wanted it returned or destroyed.
retune it and hope for a nice reward.
define: mistake
depends who it was from, if they were like bill gates or someone, i might keep it, or at least some of it, but if it was from a charity, and really not for me, i would send it back
Return it of course
send it back, if not then you will either go to prison or have to pay it back.. just send it back..
Disappear yo...
