You're reading Does music affect your mood and how you feel? It does for me. Breaking the habit from Linkin Park gets me working, Cherry and Dan Yan Pi from Yui and Rainie Yang get me happy and One winged angel from FF7 also gets me working.

And those are just discussing the purpose for the poetry in the lyrics!
Besides the lyrics, the music's instrumental strains definitely affect our emotions and demeanor. There is sad music, happy music, scary music, fun music, relaxing peaceful music, and that's only a few of the emotions it can create. That's why composers whin Oscars for the way they score a movie, like the Untouchables, or Rocky, or Lion King. Think of Beethoven, crashing, violent, somewhat manic. Think of lullabies. You wouldn't play Beethoven's Fifth to lull a baby to sleep, right? Thinks of a Strauss Walts. It makes you want to sway because it makes you feel so good. What does the sound of "Footlooose" make you want to do? Smile or cry? This is easy.
