Question

Help answer this question below.

(Matthew 5:11) is a very interesting passage, I've read it in multiple versions of the Bible and they all say to me that people who are treated poorly by others, either in an attack on Jesus' followers, or --in support of him--, are blessed... Discuss :)

“Happy are you when people reproach you and persecute you and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against you for my sake.”—MATTHEW 5:11 NWT

The basic reason why God’s people are persecuted is that they are no part of the present wicked system of things. Jesus told his disciples: “If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.” (John 15:19).

Similarly, the apostle Peter stated: “Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.”—1 Peter 4:4.
The early followers of Christ experienced the truthfulness of those words. Even when they were flogged for continuing to preach about the Kingdom, they rejoiced “because they had been counted worthy to be dishonored in behalf of his name. And every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.” (Acts 5:41, 42)

My understanding of the section (verse 3-12) is that Jesus is saying those who enter God's Kingdom have these traits ( poor in spirit, meek, hunger and thirst for righteousness) and because they are entering God's Kingdom, they are blessed/have what is worth having
