How long until the flying cars start mass production?.... or should it be the streamlining of airplanes so anyone can pass the driving test?

Prototypes of flying cars existed in the 1950's,and were flying.I do not know why they were not in production then.For sure the technology is already perfected to have flying cars.It would cut out a lot of traffic jams,and are probably not that hard to learn how to drive.Also there is vast amounts of air space and very little in ground space.We all could get to work in minutes instead of hours.
