lol. Good choice. If you do have the urge for some stupidity, use the back of your hand. I have touched one, and it really really hurt. They are cattle fences in Australia.

I believe it is a small shock. Enough to deter deer. Probably like an electric fence for cows. I touched them before it shocks you but it wasn't too bad.

The only way an electric fence will kill you is if you happen to touch it at just the right millisecond to interfere with the electrical signals to your heart. That can happen, but it is a very small chance. I've touched one many times, always by accident, and it is not fun. It is not something you want to do on purpose. It hurts. If the gauge of the wire is small enough, it will burn your skin. When you have a farm and your primary fencing is hot wire, you will get against it from time to time, whether going from one field to another by stepping over the fence or when you are repairing it or maintaining it. It is never a pleasant experience. If you do it once, you won't want to do it again. And if the fence is clean enough, that is, not grown up in weeds, the charge may be strong enough that you won't be able to let go.

I don't think it's dangerous, but they hurt like fuck. I touched an electric fence in a horse pasture twice, when the current was going (it sort of pulses) and I ended up sort of screeching and being thrown back. It felt like my heart was skipping or something, too, but then again it has that tendency generally.

If it was lethal, there would bee a lot of dead wild animals laying around it. However, I wouldn't recommend touching it for "kicks." But if you insist on doing that, I have a bank account in Zaire that I want to transfer to this country....
