Hits are counted as strikes in the box score. The pitch count will be every pitch thrown.

All pitches not called a ball by the umpire are considered a strike. This goes for hits, foul balls, check swing, swinging and missing...etc.

The only exception I can think of is when a pitcher intentionally walks a batter, these are not included in the pitch count.
