To those who can sight read in a musical sense how long was it before you can do so to a good standard ! many thanks

Sense i play the guitar,piano,drums and the trumpet well it took 1 week you will get the hang of it trust me.

The thing that worked best for me was musical flash cards. With all the notes on the staff- (one at a time, ex. A and what line it is on.) I'd go over them probably three times a day while working on the piano and reading the regular sheet music, I'm not sure how long it took because I've been playing for over 13 years now. Every now and then I take the flash cards out and quiz myself just to brush up. You can find them at most any music store or make them on lined 3/5 cards.

i'm gonna say i could sight read quite well after about six years. but i playing when i was between six and seven.
