Why do you think Trolls well "troll" and do you think they target higher ranking ABers rather than the Lower ones?

A "troll", as used on the internet, is a person who comes onto a website to cause disruption of it's normal use. This can be in the form of handing out bad ratings, asking stupid questions, or simply posting rude comments. It really has nothing to do with "rank" or points. Many trolls may not even understand the workings of the site they are disrupting. Here at Ab it has come to mean a person who downrates answers, but this is far from the truth. Not all trolls downrate answers. Many just want to post offensive material, sort of a way to get their "15 minutes of fame". Not everybody who downrates an answer is a "troll" either.
