  • No, I don't. Those who investigated the situation seem to have done a good job. "She" was the invention of another person or persons as a hoax/scam.
  • i dont know. it looks like not. but really how do we know anyone is who they say they are on the internet?
  • It doesn't look like it, Rick.
  • From what I am reading on here no she wasn't. It is sad that someone made her up and then all this happened because a lot of people have been hurt ..my friends have been hurt. It makes me again wonder if anyone is trustworthy.
  • I thought she was....where have you read that she wasn't?
  • I don't know.
  • There was clearly a real human being posting as Dreanna, that account wasn't made up by a machine. But I think that Dreanna was probably a fictitious creation of that person. I trust the people who have done the background checking and there were too many strange things surrounding her "death." That would include the fictitious lawyer looking for information on specific members.
  • I can only repeat what I wrote 3/4 days ago that No investigations into JP McCracken or DreAnna has shown anything. they have turned up negative all over the United States. Who can be sure but I can only repeat that sources say negative information on both of the above people.
  • Ultimately, to me anyway, it doesn't matter in the real world. I never knew her. I never really interacted with her on AB, outside of a few answers and comments. I never interacted with her at all outside AB. So I don't have any kind of friendship bond to really break or feel violated or whatever. I posted a polite farewell...but that was it. Maybe she was real. Maybe not. But the CHARACTER represented by DreAnna was that of a decent person. If she was not a real person, at least she was a GOOD fictional character. (Though I'm not too sure about all that personal information request at the end. Hopefully nothing came of that.) Quite a change from all the trolls you see here all the time, I'd say!
  • no. A little after the day she was supposed to have died i read a post by her. I thought it was just a glitch or they had answerbag in heaven.
  • Well I had my doubts when I realised that no one had actually seen her..but by then it was too late..also someone exsisted as she spoke to ABers..surely whoever has done this can be in serious trouble for fraud? I mean asking for personal details.. at the end of it all..its very sad and as phillis mentioned a lesson to be learned..some people can be so cruel..
  • Sadly to say she was not. She was a sock puppet from my understanding who did screw a few members over
  • Like many people on the internet, she existed as a complete character, only online, here on AnswerBag, her home. There is no living, breathing, walking around "DreAnna".
  • Honestly I can only say. I have asked questions which this member gave me answers that did not offend me or belittle me. This member has asked questions I felt were good enough for me to answer. I was never asked for anything or given anything. I was not close to this member but I am not close to many members. Was she real I guess in a manner of speaking she/he was just as real as any other member here on this site. I knew as much about her as pretty much as anyone else. As far as I can tell you anyone could be fake or real. I am no spring chicken so I am not usually drawn into scams I always check details before I move forward. It isn't that I do not trust it is I just am careful. I seen the post where it announced her death I was sad but I also know we all can not live forever. As far as I am concerned rather she died or is alive and playing a game matters not to me the one I know as DreAnna is gone so the bond is gone. I personally have no reason to ghost hunt to find details to see who is right and who is wrong. I will accept what I have and move forward.
  • People never cease to amaze me. What a creepy, weirdo.
  • Her profile now says last seen June 2 .... curious. http://www.answerbag.com/profile/?id=149870
  • Gee. She had to be someone! We are all someone. I'm sure a lot of us aren't using our real names for privacy. And, I'm also sure that a lot of us are not giving real personal answers all the time. This is the Internet of course. Who says we can't have entertainment without protecting our privacy??? I'm sure a real person typed all those answers and questions, no machine, etc. How do you know I'm a real person???? Want to investigate??? I've given a lot of information in answers, questions and comments.
  • Check this out. What follows is the first (nb: introductory) e-mail that I received from "DreAnna" on July 1st, 2007 at 2:35 am: "Hi Rickster..Just wanted to let you know how sweet and concerned you appear. I enjoy reading your question and answers ..always interesting. I may sound a bit off from time to time in my replies, sometimes maybe sarcastic or down right bitchy..my apologies for that, I do try to keep a sense of humour in a life that is less that funny often times. Tired of so much and yet so much to do can get annoying at times. Thank you :) DreAnna" Real or not?
  • seems a real person had to type her and set up the account but how much of who everyone thought she was who knows
  • She had to be someone to answer question and ask them but, who she is who knows.
  • Many of us are stunned, hurt and feel violated by what has happened. Some were pulled so close, they nearly touched this Dreanna thing. I think it speaks volumes about those who cared,.. who felt the love, and these pains that have followed. Each and every one of you should be proud of yourselves. You have what is most lacking in the world today. You have trust. You have respect. You care. I am honored to have you guys as my friends and trulely cherish our interaction, time and time again. Now, on the serious side of the subject. I'd like to ask (in true Ecnal fashion) the question that weighs most heavily on all our minds. Does this mean we don't get to see Dre naked yo???... Peace peeps! ;)====(
  • Someone was DreAnna that is for sure.
  • She had to be someone. We may never find the real truth. But we had her for awhile. Now she moved on.
  • She was what some people woul call a "troll"
  • I think my views on this are well-known... I hope this whole topic goes away soon.
  • No. She was a friend of mine but we never had much interaction. A strange answer she gave once has always stuck in my mind and now makes sense. I never felt bonded to her and feel for those who did. Basically it is a sad person who would have done something like this and i think we should forget them.
  • As real as anyone else on AB.
