  • Run and hide behind a bush, tree, person..etc... "Oh NO the big bad camera is coming to take my soul". Stupid people.
  • There is a tribe of Native Americans near Anchorage, Alaska, and I'm sorry that I do not remember the name they call themselves. When you visit their village, you are permitted to take photos of anything you wish (stores, homes, their cemetery, etc.), but photos of THEM are forbidden, and when they see a camera aimed in their direction, they will react as if you are aiming a GUN at them, by turning away and RUNNING from you. They don't offer any explanation for their superstition.
  • I had someone come after me with a baseball bat because they did not want their photo taken.
  • have a skin head charge at me... then fall over
  • I worked as a photographer on a cruise liner. We stopped in Indonesia and I escorted a tour to some local markets. Its a completely different culture there. Many husbands go out fishing, wives farm vegetables and children sell the goods at market. I noticed a boy of about 7 or 8 years old and he had a blanket set out with various vegetables on it. Without thinking, I thought it was great cultural shot and took the photo. At that point, the boy started wailing and the people around me went berzerk. Apprantly, a belief held there is that if you have your photo taken, it takes with it your soul. I learned a valuable lesson that day and I'll never forgive myself for the trauma I caused that boy.
  • Every one in my family have pictures of my father with his hand drew back about to knock the camera out of their hand.He never did like having his picture took.
  • I had a lady literally bolt out of the room at full speed the second I produced a camera. Another young coworker from "the old country" pleaded for me not to take her picture (she was the only one in the store who refused). Also, someone angrily swore they would break my camera if I took their picture.
