It's fine if they're in the picture too... usually it's because they love their kids and want to show them off, and they're retarded.

My conclusion is that many parents think of their children as extensions of themselves.

My Mum has more photos of me than of her... she puts up ones she personally likes, I am not sure why. Maybe she is a proud (biased) mum like the rest of them =) [Edit] OH you mean as the main photo... that is just strange! I have friends who do that for their babies, that is understandable - they want everyone to see their new light of their lives!

Different reasons I suppose. I used mine for a long time because I didn't have a decent picture to use of myself.

For the same reason people put pictures with friends, partners and so on... You put pictures you like of the things you like.

I don't know...I put my own baby picture on mine. I would never put pics of my kids up there.

Lots of folks use facebook as their personal family web page. They restrict all contact to their friends and post lots of family pics. People tend to post pictures in their profile relating to recent events - I suppose if I had kids I'd post the most recent "darndest thing" the kid had done, to ensure all would see.
