Is it possible to love someone too much. Not in an obsessive, smothering kind of way but in a way that you know you pretty much couldn't live without them. Or that you know you would forgive anything they did?

I had an affair with my bestfriends wife that lasted almost 2 years in the early part of our marriage. I finally put a stop to it and broke down and told her everything. She stayed with me and said "Sometimes, I think I love you too much." I have never looked at another woman since.

Well you can love an animal like that. When they crap on the living room floor, yeah it sucks when you have to clean it up but how can you stay mad at an animal? When a human hurts you say by cheating on you or treating you bad and/or taking you for granted, it's a different kind of hurt altogether. It cuts to the bone and it stings. It stings cause you love them immensely and yu cant understand why they did what they did to you. If you are ok with being a doormat thats a decision you alone can only make.
