The big problem with the waterboarding is illustrated up by the phrasing of your question "Do you think its wrong to water board terrorists?" The words 'claimed', or 'assumed' are not even included before 'terrorists' in any discussions of this type - they have not been proven guilty, they have not even been tried. Until they have been tried, and proven guilty should we not treat them the same way as everybody else? We do not know for sure that they are terrorists. If we did, surely there would have been enough evidence to send them to trial? Innocent until proven guilty, just like everyone else, so no. This of course completely ignores the whole aspect of torture being proven to be mostly ineffective. If it was effective - there may be a case in terms of it being a prudent move. It would still rightfully fail under human rights arguments though.

The sad part about our society is Honestly, we are guilty until proven innocent.
-
It's wrong to torture anyone
-
Because they ARE terrorists as per your question, I will only think it is wrong when THEY think it is wrong to kill thousands of people in attacks or to use illiterates or mentally unstable people to suicide bomb, or to behead people on the internet. Waterboarding is too kind to people like this. :o(
-
It's certainly wrong on a public relations level. Whether it can be useful when a terrorist is known to have vital information to prevent a major terrorist attack within a limited time frame is another issue. I suspect in that situation that though torture is not sanctioned an operative would be expected to go off the reservation to do what is necessary.

no...

It worked for the Chinese!
-
No, Those terrorist do worse to the people they capture. If waterboarding prevents an attack on americans then I am all for it
-
Yes it is wrong.
-
for revenge purposes: no for intelligence purpouses: yes
-
either we are the good guys, or we are not-i hope good
-
not at all. they are involved in an organization that does not value human life, we are treating them FAR better than they treat their captives. (films of beheadings, anyone?) by any means necessary, i say.
-
It's wrong to render those insane bastards any sort of help.
-
Hardly. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. But the sad thing is that now that we've told the world about waterboarding, terrorists 'harden' themselves against it, making the technique useless. Nice job, Liberal Media!

Two wrongs don't make a right.
-
Yes. WHY should we lower ourselves to their level?
-
Yeah, but it's also wrong to pilot jetliners into buildings yo...

I don't care what they do with foreign nationals found engaging in conspiracy or aggression against the American public or government. I mean, were I to engage in that sort of behavior against, say, the Chinese government I would expect them to do awful things to me if they ever caught me. I seriously doubt anyone would feel sorry for me, but would instead say "what the hell was he thinking trying to (some act of terrorism)?" Fighting the powers that be is not a healthy or safe occupation. Particularly when they're foreign powers who really really really do not give a damn about you. Waterboarding citizens? I'd be reluctant. The only way I can imagine doing it is if there were some rather unlikely action-movie ticking time-bomb scenario where you absolutely had to get information right now or many innocents would die. But, outside of that somewhat unlikely scenario, no, I wouldn't do it.
-
It's definately wrong to use water board as a verb...
-
I think it's wrong to convict and label someone as such without a trial. +5

No. These people are sub-human, and deserve no mercy, they show no mercy to those they blow up or murder, why should We?(I dont believe in that be a "better man"crap) If given the chance they would gladly come back and kill us. So i think its perfectly fine to waterboard them even if it gets no information. It will let them know were serious about winning this war. You cant win a war with two hands tied behind your back. Bring on the DR's this is my opinion and im sticking to it.

Yes, I think it's wrong.
