This is one of those times when you need to get OFF the computer and CALL THE VET STAT!

It could be diabetes, especially if she seems to have lost weight over the past several months. It could also be her Kidneys starting to shut down, especially if her HIND END seems a bit wobbly lately.

If not already done, she needs to be seen by a Vet TODAY ASAP, time is of the essence right now.
You may end up having to make a hard decision here, as these problems are rather expensive to treat, even if it is not too late to try and do something.

Do what is best for her, you know that you love her with all your heart...but you have to listen to the Vet and decide what sort of quality of life you can give her over all, know that there are many animal lovers here at AB and I think just about all of them would support you in putting her first as much as you can and not damn you if the cost and odds for successful healing are not favorable.

Let us know how she AND YOU are doing please.

Take her to the vet's right away. Her symptoms indicate a serious problem.

Excessive water consumption can be a sign of canine diabetes, but i would take her to the vet asap for a check up. constant vomiting could destroy the soft tissue of her throat. good luck

    John.

Your dog is really old, and it sounds like its very ill. I strongly suggest you take it to a vet. I think if your dog is vomiting every night, its too late to ask for help on AB, you need a professional.

This could be Gastroenteritis, which is inflamation of the stomach and possibly the colon. They can run a fever as well. Our Saints developed this, but we didn't realize there was a problem until we saw blood in the feces. A lot of blood. Vet put them on a stomach pill much like Zantac, two anti biotics, "Flagyl 500mgs. and Amoxicillian 500mg", and another small white pill called Raglon 10mg. Of course, your vet must decide what your dog has. However, rice and boiled or baked chicken should be the diet for now (easy to digest and less gas), also Gastroenteritis is caused by infections and/or hook worms, which they did find later in her treatment. Dog should respond within four days. Mine was also drowling as well as drinking alot.
