  • http://www.snopes.com/quotes/einstein/bees.asp Says Undetermined However I read a couple/three decades ago that Einstein said something along the lines of 'if all the pollinators died off humanity would soon follow' He "said" - and it was 'hearsay' that passed on that information and it was part of a larger conversation where Einstein was commenting upon the work(s) of an etymologist who had made the observation that bugs play a huge roll in the stability of the food chain since so many of them do pollinate the flowers from which fruit and seed comes. So actually the quote is wrong, since its not 'bees' and further it is hearsay from hearsay and no one seems to know 'who' actually said it to Albert to make Albert comment to a friend about it all.
