I love lettuce, but cutting it up and washing it can be a pain.. and I really don't like wet lettuce on my sandwich. Sometimes we'll have the bagged salad and I'll just put a bit of that on it. It really depends on what else is on the sandwich for me.. lettuce doesn't really go with bologna and cheese.

maybe they see it as pointless due to it being quite tasteless. I always put crunchy bits like lettuce in mine...adds texture :)

I used to until I found shredded lettuce, but still lettuce doesn't last that long in the fridge before it turns brown.

I don't often go for lettuce in my sandwich, just some salad leaves - but they are a very important part =)

Maybe they are making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I might not get lettuce as it goes bad quickly before I use it all.

Too much trouble. You have to wash the lettuce, dry it thoroughly, trim it and by then you could have already eaten your sandwich. So if you're really hungry the lettuce gets left behind! :)

It might be the type of sandwich they are eating. I don't add lettuce to all sandwiches, just those that I think will be better with lettuce. If I don't add it to those, it might be because I don't have any good lettuce handy. I prefer romaine that has some taste, or maybe a buttercrunch lettuce.

Why have something healthy with the processed 'meat', processed 'cheese slices' and mayonaise?

I think maybe because lettuce has properties that make you sleepy, I love it.

Because the salad belong in the bowl on the side. I like meat and cheese only on mine. I want the full flavor of the meat to come through.
