In general YES. http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/community/bmd/marriages/abroad/Marriage+abroad+recognition.htm It seems that officially the marriage must be determined to be valid in a UK court, HOWEVER, the key to this is that the marriage complied with the law of the country where it took place and the couple had the legal capacity to marry under their laws of comicile.
