They can decide as long as I aprove.

From the time they were old enough to ask about it they have had their own choice, around age 8. I just give them the money, and they walk over to the shop and get whatever they can talk the worker into, haircuts and clothing.

I let them decide within reasonable boundries.

a bit of both, I dont really mind how they have their hair cut, but when I take them, they always say to me, you tell th elady mum, you know how we have it done...............so I guess they dont mind wither.:)

Good question. They decide...with guidance. Children and young adults don't magically make good choices by themselves the day they turn 18 if they aren't allowed to do so long before then. If I make all my children's choices like that, then I will have failed them as an adult.
