  • I would say hula dancing is a cultural thing. Western music and rodeos are cultural. Cinco de Mayo and enchiladas are cultural. Religion, however, seems to transcend culture. It can be found in every part of the world, and it has been around since the dawn of time. So I guess my answer is no, it is not just a cultural thing.
  • Religion yeah. Truth no. When there is certain teachings that can help all of mankind, I think it should be a world renown thing. Not just for a certain cultural. So truth, with a way, and life following it....I wouldnt call that a religion. But how to live.
  • yes and no.. I think it has to do with a few things .. some people want someone aka God.. to blame all their problems on, some are looking to make sense of this world and others are trying to fill some kind of void or emptiness in their life.
  • every religion has their "god" or I guess the proper word here is deity...so is religion cultural, would depend on what your really asking here. Religion exists in every culture.
  • I would say at one point in time, at the origins of religion, it was very much (although not exclusively) cultural. Now, religions and culture often become entangled. Aspects of culture are treated as aspects of religion, and aspects of religion become engrained in culture. However - if we look at the major religions, they are practiced in very different ways, in very different cultural settings. Sometimes religious practice evolves with culture, at other times it transcends it. I think there is a strong and complicated relationship between religion and culture - but religion is not merely a cultural thing.
