It depends on the item. if its a small little token that you wouldn't sell for more than a couple of dollars than i think that it should be a gift. If its a painting or something then they should pay. i think though that you should give it to the for 2/3 of the price or so so that you can cover the cost yet make some profit as from your time.

...LoL, first they shouldnt expect to get anything for free.......what you do is a business, they should be willing to pay you for your projects, and maybe...if you do wanna cut em a deal, tell em its a family deal...and chop off a few bucks (even if its just breaking even) - ya know, for family. But no super special deals, like I said...its a business.

The first rule of business would be to sell it to only those who will pay for that!The price can be determined after doing a small market research and understanding the costs and other things involved like margins etc!Everyone is looking for a freebee so avoid becoming a person who can be conned!
