it may be some sort of connection with good and evil. Stereotypically Evil is the more powerful of the two as is testified in the ever popular Star Wars Series. Black may represent Evil in this case. If you can't handle being evil i suggest White socks.

Because black socks are the symbol of a real man, didn't you know that? Way back in prehistoric times, black socks were what attracted the ladies. It is 'I am a man, a powerful man, with black socks', and I mean, that is one hell of a statement. Enthused with the magic of discount stores across the land, men's black socks have made men feel like dominant males for years. Heck who cares what kind of car you have, how good you are at the gym, all that, when you have black socks?

Because all the colors are absorbed by black, and thus your feet get a great intense bit of heat from all that light, warming them and causing your blood to flow which makes it flow throughout your whole body. Then your whole body is warm and ready for action, and so you feel powerful.

Black is a sexy colour and socks are a manly item of clothing. Black socks look professional and worn by the movers and shakers in the world -lawyers, politicians, professors, ambassadors, etc. They are (or should be) a basic staple in a man's wardrobe unless he is a tennis bum or a teenager. Therefore, I agree that black socks make the man.
