Nah I've known some people who used 'em as their everyday cars.

No, you don't need a permit to drive one.

There was a Hollywood actress who owned one she used for shopping trips. Anyone with a driver's license can drive one.

You can drive one if you have a driver's license, like any other car. It might slightly vary depending on where you live, but I don't think there are any laws about this. But you do have to buy it if you want it, I think those are pretty expensive, but a lot less than if a funeral parlour establishment gets a set of customized hearses with the names of the parlours on them and all, which is usually pretty fancy looking and a lot more quality than your average paint job. Most people buy them used, and it's a good way for the companies to make more money to maintain the current hearses or buy new ones altogether by selling their older ones to random Goths or some kind of establishment that uses the parts. (Hearses have pretty hardcore engines.) Hearses used for their intentions always have to be in top condition, and they don't replace them every two years but it does happen, and is usually how people seem to get them. That, or they get much older models so it costs a whole lot less. Unless it's a Packard hearse lol, never saw anyone drive that. ...that's pretty disturbing lol. Used hearses. Dude.

The best man at my older brother's wedding drove a hearse. He parked it right in front of the church door for the wedding. Pissed off a few people. I thought it was pretty funny.
