I need to bring rocks to make a rock garden. I need to use my car which is a Pontiac Grand Prix. They have a scale where I will get the rocks and I am wondering how much weight an axel in a Pontiac can handle before it breaks. Don't want to over do it.

the avg cargo weight of a passanger car is about 6-900lbs including passangers. It would be cheaper to rent a U-haul pu that can hold about 1500 lbs cargo, buy the time you make enough trpis you will pay for the rental, locally it will cost about $30-50

Rocks weighing as much as "passengers plus suit cases" will not be a problem. I'd put no more than 200lbs on the floor by each front and rear passenger space, plus 200lbs in the trunk (800lbs total). Don't put them all in the trunk though.

im not sure but i dont think your car would hold enough to break your axle. i also dont think the people loading them would load it to heavy.

rent a truck at Home Depot for $25.oo and save your springs and trunk interior

I'm with Gurlygirl, but if that isn't an option, check your owner's manual. There should be information on the load the axle can carry under towing.
