Why do some white people get so offended when a black person calls them a "cracker"?

That would be like asking why does a black person get mad when a white person calls them the N word? And i personally don't like to be called cracker by anyone (I don't care what race the person is)

Probably because they know that if they called a black person a nigger that they would get their ass kicked or killed. Things are not equal when it comes to racism.

Nobody has ever called me that to my face. I said "What's up, cracka" to a white co-worker and he did not speak to me for months. I thought that word died of years ago. I guess not.

they way i see it is is we can't say nigger you can't say cracker they are both racist remarks

I don't know. The offense is not so much in the word but the fact that it is a racial thing. People just need to get over it.

Ya, I'm light skinned & of all the things a person could call me "cracker" doesn't really affect me. Because I know we're all just people. But really, "cracker".Who ever came up with that? I'm more offended by being called white. Like thats the only tone of my skin.(PEACE)
