I never give them cash. but I do give them a meal

I don't give money to beggers directly, but I do donate actual food items to the local food pantry.

I don't really care what they do with the money. When they ask if I have change, I reserve what I need and give them the rest in a friendly and direct manner. I know I'm not helping them with my money, but I can afford the pennies for that chance to reach out to a person in need, look them in the eye and show them there are still people who care what happens to them.

No. I rarely give money to beggars, but when I do it is theirs to do whatever they want with.

When you give, do so with no attachment to how your gift is to be used. If you are willing to part with whatever it is, money, food, clothing or anything else, you are parting with possession and title. The recipient has the power to choose how he/she will use the gift. If you want to impose strings on your gift, that's also okay, just be sure you state the terms and conditions under which you are making the offer. And I wouldn't call it a "gift" if you are attaching strings.
-
I give them money because they need but I do not think of what they might do with the money because I think no one want to be a beggar if he is not so needy and poor
-
I do think about it and it informs my decision to give or not - if the guy is steaming drunk with a can in his hand I am not likely to hand over any cash. I won't tell a person what I expect for them to do with my money, If I trust a person is being straight with me then I just give it on faith and hope that they use it in the way they declared the wanted to. If they don't, that is up to them.

You should only give money that you can live without. Giving is not about worrying what the other person is going to do with it. If you really think about the latter remark--it sounds like the giver is selfish? Is that negative? Giving anything not just money is suppose to be an act of freeing yourself or making yourself feel better? Thats a positive. Agree or not; I dont care--this needed to be said. I can take any remark???..............................

If I give to a beggar I give with a warm open heart. Now if they are dishonest in why they needed it ...well that's them. I do as my heart and mind guides me.
