  • Hopefully the tomatoes were started by a garden center and you did not plant seeds. Your green tomatoes will get frozen if you started them from seed now. I did that when I lived in ND. I would pick them green before the first freeze and lay they out on newspaper in the basement. We would eat them as they ripened. I have tomatoes, squash and cucumbers planted.
  • I used to plant a garden every year, but live in an apt. now. But I used to grow just about everything from pumpkins to peas. I love fresh picked veggies. Good luck with yours Karen Ann.
  • Beefsteak tomatoes,spinach,leaf lettuce,wax beans,green peppers,chamomile,spearmint and a variety of flowers :)
  • I have planted corn, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, green peppers, and zucchini. I might add a habenero pepper plant and maybe some radishes. I never had luck with lettuce. The city critters love that stuff. This year I bought some fox urine to to scare the squirrels away. I can not believe that I paid for animal urine. It had better work.
  • Here in a downtown Boston condo there's no place for a garden. We do grow fresh herbs in the southern exposure window ledges, though.
  • I have yet been able to get my garden out...but when I do...I will have many different types of peppers, hot included, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, radishes, turnips, green beans, corn, carrots, potatoes, squash...I'm sure I am leaving some out...but that is all that I can think of right now.
  • Good for you! If everyone started doing that, we'd use less gas in tillers to mow manicured lawns and pump less water over the Rockies to grow vegetables in the desert so that we could ship them back across the country to sell to people who could be growing them in their back yard. I have to grow all the tomatoes I eat as I'm allergic to tin cans and they don't freeze tomatoes. We also planted turnips and beets this year. I'm recuperating from surgery, so Daddy and Little Bit planted it and they got a bit carried away and planted all the seeds in the packet, so there is no room left for sweet potatoes (its a small garden).
  • Tomatoes, peppers, jalapenos,strawberries.
  • I have a garden..but it only gets about 2 - 3 hours of direct sunlight everyday..so it is filled with ferns and greenery with a waterfall and fish pond.....very relaxing.
  • I do have a garden but it has nothing in it only plants maybe i might plant something?yours sounds great though.
  • Sweet peas. I am also growing some culinary and medicinal herbs.
  • Alas, I used to garden and I grew several types of tomatoes, salad greens and the most gorgeous roses in the world (I had a whole water/fertilizer fomula worked out) Blooms as big as your head! Post divorce, my 2nd story aparment doesn't allow for that, but I do have window boxes filled with culinary herbs, and I live 5 minutes away from an organic, U-pick farm that grows great tomatoes and corn.
  • Jalapenos,habeneros and tomatoes
